The wall-routing protocol — derive · reduce · dissolve · anchor · wall-record

Every wall must stop floating. A wall either closes by derivation, reduces to a named deep root, dissolves because the demanded problem was artificial, or gets recorded as a real frontier wall. What is forbidden is leaving the wall vague, or pretending a local win has closed a global problem.

What this page is

This page is the routing protocol that turns an unresolved gate wall into one of a small set of legitimate terminal endpoints:

$$ \boxed{ \text{derivation, reduction-to-root, dissolution, anchoring, or wall-record} } $$

It generalizes the strategy developed for the UQF-5C interacting-graviton wall and for the deep-root and dissolution examples. It is one of three pages in /closure/, and it sits on top of two reference systems already published on this site: the seven deep roots every wall must link to, and the wall register that names the distinct frontier walls W1–W19. The protocol is not hypothetical: run over the complete published bill, it produced the ratified board — 33 resolved at +0 · 0 anchored at +1 · 0 open (2026-07-08), with 0 of 33 physics-closed stated beside it — and every worked endpoint below carries its ledger row and dossier.

The discipline is the program's spine and is enforced literally here:

anchored ≠ closed · dissolved ≠ solved · selected ≠ forced · given-$E$ ≠ derivation-of-$E$ · a wall-record is not a solution.

Core thesis

A wall is not automatically a failure. A wall is an unclassified endpoint.

The job of the closure system is to classify each wall:

$$ \text{wall} \;\Rightarrow\; \text{name it} \;\Rightarrow\; \text{test if root / dissolution / frontier} \;\Rightarrow\; \text{assign terminal status}. $$

The terminal endpoint is often not full closure. It may be anchoring the wall to a specific deep root, dissolving a false obligation that only existed because of an idealization, or recording that the remaining object is a known frontier/unicorn wall no single gate owns. Each of these is a legitimate place for the chain of "why?" to stop — provided it is named, typed, and status-labeled, so that nothing load-bearing floats silently.

The seven-root hierarchy every wall links to

Step 3 of the algorithm requires every wall to link to at least one of the seven deep roots. These are the irreducible operating floor of the framework — not all theorem-grade; some are meta-admissibility roots, some are physical posits, some remain declared posits or proof targets. The canonical statements live on the deep-roots page; the routing roles are summarized here.

Root Tier Typical wall role
Invariance / Physical Equivalence Tier-0 meta-root removes coordinate/gauge artifacts; identifies the physical tensor structure a wall is really about
Record Interface Tier-0 meta-root makes the wall auditable/reproducible; defines the finite-record currency in which a wall could ever be paid
Causal Order Tier-1 physical classifies horizons, signalling, locality, causal-update walls
Granularity / Cost-Floor Tier-1 physical dissolves continuum infinities; charges exact labels; reduces root floors to one declared posit $+$ measured $\hbar$
Scale Tier-1 physical classifies cutoff / above-regime / large-hierarchy walls; separates scale existence from measured value $M_{\rm Pl}$
Shape Tier-1 physical anchors structural-form and selector walls; the frozen branch $M_4\times K_6\times S^2\times S^1_Y/\mathbb Z_2$, $K_6=SU(3)/T^2$
Nonseparability / Global State Constraint Tier-1 physical prevents local closure from masquerading as global completion; guards no-signalling

Two notes carried verbatim from the deep-roots page, because walls are routinely mis-routed on them:

The universal wall-routing algorithm

Step 1 — Name the wall exactly

A vague wall cannot be routed. Replace the slogan with the exact missing object.

Bad (slogan) Good (exact missing object)
quantum gravity problem constructive non-perturbative UV completion of the interacting graviton, shared with UQF-9 (wall W1)
Lambda problem demand to cancel a Planck-scale Lorentz-invariant vacuum stress against a bare constant to match $\Lambda_{\rm obs}$
black-hole problem obligation to physically realize the $r=0$ curvature divergence produced by the continuum Schwarzschild limit

Step 2 — Decide whether the wall is real or artificial

Question If yes
Is the wall caused by an unphysical idealization? candidate DISSOLVED-CONDITIONAL
Is the wall caused by a hidden primitive? candidate REDUCED-TO-AXIOM
Is the wall a measured value? candidate MEASURED-ANCHOR / VALUE-OPEN
Is the wall a universal negative (unicorn)? dissolve it as a non-target — only the bounded, in-grammar version is recorded as a wall
Is the wall a known frontier problem? candidate TERMINAL-ANCHORED / PHYSICS-OPEN (board vocabulary: CERTIFIED-IRREDUCIBLE)
Is the wall a bounded calculation? keep as OPEN work package

Step 3 — Map the wall to roots

Use the seven-root table above. Every wall must link to at least one deep root. If a wall links to no root, it has not been named precisely enough — return to Step 1.

Step 4 — Try reduction-to-root

If the wall asks for an impossible from-nothing derivation, compress it to a named root posit. A reduction does not eliminate the anchor — it relocates the burden onto one named, paid posit plus a measured residue plus an explicit anti-claim.

$$ \text{wall burden} \;\Rightarrow\; \text{one named posit} \;+\; \text{measured residue} \;+\; \text{anti-claim}. $$

Worked example (granularity):

$$ \text{derive granularity from nothing} \;\Rightarrow\; \text{Uniform Operational Cell Law} \;+\; \hbar \;+\; (\text{pre-quantum reconstruction open}). $$

Status:

$$ \boxed{\text{REDUCED-TO-AXIOM / AXIOM-CLOSED}} $$

The anti-claim is mandatory: the posit is declared, not derived; the floor is one posit, not zero (see Granularity root above).

Step 5 — Try dissolution

If the wall exists only because of an idealization or a wrong premise, dissolve it: show that the catastrophe is produced by the premise, then remove or replace the premise and watch the burden disappear.

$$ \text{wrong premise} \;\Rightarrow\; \text{catastrophe/pathology}, \qquad \text{remove/replace premise} \;\Rightarrow\; \text{burden disappears}. $$

Worked example ($\Lambda$ trace-coupling):

$$ T_{\mu\nu}^{\rm vac}=-\rho_{\rm vac}\,g_{\mu\nu} \;\Rightarrow\; T_{\mu\nu}^{\rm vac}-\tfrac14 g_{\mu\nu}T^{\rm vac}=0. $$

Status:

$$ \boxed{\text{DISSOLVED-CONDITIONAL / VALUE-OPEN}} $$

Dissolution is conditional on a declared root/premise, and it dissolves the catastrophe, never the measured value. Dissolved ≠ solved.

Step 6 — Wall-record frontier problems

If the wall is real, not artificial, and not locally closeable, record it. Bank the local wins, name the exact missing global object, and attach the anti-claim that the record is not a solution.

$$ \text{local wins} \;+\; \text{exact missing global object} \;+\; \text{anti-claim} \;\Rightarrow\; \text{TERMINAL-ANCHORED / WALL-RECORDED}. $$

This is the strategy for UQF-5C, worked in full below.

Worked example A — granularity (reduction-to-root)

Worked example B — absolute shape irreducibility (selector wall → wall-record)

Worked example C — the $\Lambda$ catastrophe (dissolution)

Worked example D — the black-hole $r=0$ singularity (dissolution)

The UQF-5C wall strategy (frontier wall-record)

Original wall

UQF-5C asks for:

$$ \text{constructive non-perturbative UV completion / strong-coupling closure of the interacting graviton}. $$

That is not a reasonable per-gate local closure target. It is the shared UQF-9 wall (W1 in the register).

What is banked

The gate can bank:

What is not banked

The gate cannot bank:

Correct terminal endpoint

$$ \boxed{\text{UQF-5C} = \text{CERTIFIED-IRREDUCIBLE} \;\cdot\; \text{RESOLVED +0}} \qquad\text{i.e.}\qquad \boxed{\text{UQF-5C} = \text{WALL-RECORDED, shared with UQF-9}} $$

That is the ratified board row (UQF-5C dossier · UQF-9 dossier): the shared wall is named, anchored, and displayed — and the row closes at +0 because certifying an irreducible external dependency, openly, is the honest terminal for a frontier wall no single theory owns.

Status paragraph

UQF-5C has reached its legitimate terminal endpoint for this gate: not a full constructive UV completion of quantum gravity, but a precise anchoring of the wall. The frozen geometry supplies the graviton operator as a DERIVED-GIVEN-E structural result; bounded heat-kernel and positivity work may sharpen the linearized certificate; but the strong-coupling interacting graviton remains the shared UQF-9 wall (W1) — the same Clay-class frontier every approach to quantum gravity inherits. The ratified status is CERTIFIED-IRREDUCIBLE · RESOLVED +0, not physics-closed: the wall is recorded and shown openly, never claimed solved.

Generic routing prompt for any wall

Use this for every wall. The first rule is the load-bearing one: do not try to solve the wall unless it is a bounded calculation — route it.

You are classifying a gate wall. Do not try to solve the wall unless it is a
bounded calculation. Your job is to route the wall to the correct terminal endpoint.

 1. Name the wall exactly.
 2. List the local wins already banked.
 3. Identify the exact missing object.
 4. Decide whether the wall is:
    - root primitive,
    - wrong-premise / idealization,
    - measured value,
    - selector/category wall,
    - frontier physics wall,
    - bounded computation,
    - audit-only wall.
 5. Link the wall to deep roots.
 6. Test whether the wall can be:
    - derived,
    - reduced to axiom,
    - dissolved,
    - measured/anchored,
    - wall-recorded.
 7. Assign terminal status.
 8. Write allowed claim.
 9. Write forbidden claim.
10. List residual work.
11. Add completion tests.

Generic completion tests for any wall

A wall-routing page is complete only if:

The final invariant

$$ \boxed{\text{A gate is not terminal because everything is solved.}} $$

$$ \boxed{\text{A gate is terminal when its wall has the correct endpoint: derived, reduced, dissolved, anchored, or recorded.}} $$

Shared status vocabulary

Used consistently across all three /closure/ pages and the anchors and walls systems.

Status Meaning
CLOSED The actual target is derived, computed, or proven at the stated scope. Rare — currently used by zero physics gates: 0 of 33 are physics-closed, by design (the anchor floor is ≥ 1), while all 33 stand RESOLVED at +0 on the board.
DERIVED The claim follows from stated premises without importing the target.
DERIVED-GIVEN-E The claim follows given the upstream spectrum / input $E$; it does not derive $E$.
DERIVED-GIVEN-AXIOM The claim follows once the declared axiom is granted.
MEASURED-ANCHOR The value is empirical input / residue, not derived.
DECLARED ROOT The framework bottoms out here; the root is named and paid.
AXIOM-OPEN / declared The posit is explicitly declared and may later be reduced, but is not derived now.
REDUCED-TO-AXIOM The wall/root has been compressed to a named irreducible posit or minimal posit set.
AXIOM-CLOSED The primitive is no longer hidden; it is paid, named, and stable as an endpoint.
DISSOLVED-CONDITIONAL The demanded problem disappears once a declared root/axiom/premise is accepted.
TERMINAL-ANCHORED The gate has reached its legitimate endpoint by being tied to exact anchors and residuals.
WALL-RECORDED The remaining object is a known frontier/permanent wall, not a per-gate task.
VALUE-OPEN A catastrophe/pathology is dissolved, but the observed numerical value remains measured/open.
MODEL-OPEN A pathology is dissolved, but the unique model/interior/dynamics is not derived.
AUDIT ONLY The item validates reproducibility/object identity, not physical truth.
OPEN A real residual remains.
BLOCKED The residual cannot currently be executed because a prerequisite is missing.
ANTI-CLAIM A claim the page explicitly refuses to make.
