# UQF-7 — Fermion Chirality / Quantization

## What this gate must establish

A unification theory survives only if its fermions survive *quantization* with the same chirality the classical geometry hands them. Concretely, UQF-7 asks: are the chiral fermions of the χ = −3 spectrum consistently quantized at the quantum level, with **no light mirror partners** — no opposite-handedness fermions appearing near the same masses that the world demonstrably does not contain? This is one of the classic graveyards of unification programmes: the classical field content can look perfect and still fail the day the theory is quantized.

## The geometry's role (load-bearing, not validation)

The frozen 13D geometry supplies the *classical* starting point: the Dirac operator on the internal space K₆ has a net zero-mode count whose magnitude is 3 (three families) and whose sign encodes a single handedness — an Atiyah-Patodi-Singer index result (+3, 0), cross-checked by an independent bundle scan returning |index| = 3. In the corpus this classical, zero-mode-level chirality count is treated as a **closed, twice-derived** input — but only *given* the observed Standard-Model content, and only at the classical zero-mode level. What the geometry does **not** do is certify that the 4D descent (the Kaluza-Klein reduction and the coset/quotient projection) preserves that chirality once the theory is quantized. The geometry is load-bearing for the *origin* of three chiral families; it is not a validation that they remain chiral and mirror-free after quantization.

## Current honest status

**Badge: AUDIT (OPEN). No status was ever upgraded.**

The honest split is precise:

- **Established (DERIVED-GIVEN-E):** The classical index count — three families, single handedness, no mirrors *at the zero-mode level* — is treated as closed and twice-derived (APS +3 plus an independent scan). The no-light-mirror structure is checked *perturbatively*, and the family count is consistent with the LEP/SLD measurement of 2.984 ± 0.008 light neutrino species. The index count is explicitly **not** the open item.
- **Open (the actual blocker):** Demonstrating that the 4D descent preserves chirality *at the quantum level* — that no light mirror partners are generated by KK-tower or quotient subtleties — requires explicit verification that has not been completed. The corresponding non-perturbative object, the **coset-twist quantization**, has **no known route**. The gate inherits a closed classical count but carries an open quantum certificate.

This is an AUDIT row in the Quantum paper's seventeen-gate ledger, where the overall headline is Σ = AUDIT (the weakest link is published as the front-page status). The framework's structural boundary applies here as everywhere: it supplies high-energy (UV) data and structurally cannot supply a low-energy (IR) spectrum certificate. Note also a recorded internal bookkeeping wrinkle — two sections of the manuscript briefly disagreed on whether this row read CANDIDATE or AUDIT; that was reconciled conservatively to **AUDIT**, the weaker verdict.

## What would close it

The concrete path: a specialist construction of the **non-perturbative coset-twist quantization** that verifies, rather than assumes, that the 4D descent preserves chirality — explicitly ruling out light mirror partners arising from KK or quotient effects. This is the same class of missing object as the companion anomaly gate (UQF-4), whose non-perturbative descent also has no known route. As of this writing there is **no known method** that reaches it; the gate cannot be closed by relabelling the classical index result as if it settled the quantum question. The classical chirality count standing closed does not promote the quantum certificate.

- **Gaps & Walls Register** (Fable programme, 2026-06-24), Section 2, the Quantum gates table — UQF-7 row: "fermion quantization … AUDIT (OPEN); the no-light-mirror structure is checked perturbatively, consistent with the LEP neutrino count; the non-perturbative coset-twist quantization has no known route."
- **Quantum (Paper 3 of 4)**, §11 (fermion quantization), §10 status scoreboard, and the Corpus Reconciliation ledger (§20). UQF-7 verbatim: "demonstrating that the 4D-descent preserves chirality at the quantum level (no light mirror partners from KK/quotient subtleties) requires explicit verification." The reconciliation confirms the classical index count (ind D_{K₆} = 3, no zero-mode mirrors; APS (+3,0) plus the BWB |index| = 3 scan) is **not** the open item.

**Ceiling on this brief:** serious candidate / partial unification — **NOT validated.** "Given-E" is not a derivation of E; a closed classical index count is not a closed quantum chirality certificate. No gate was closed and no number was newly derived in producing this brief. No status was ever upgraded.
